Artist Statement

On Digital Works....

'I have always enjoyed playing around with Photoshop and mixing and matching pictures together. Quite often once I have produced an image or drawing it is always interesting to play around with it, create it in different colours, in different styles and different mediums. Digital work makes this easier to do. I always try to layer up my images using different textures and bits of paintwork I have created in real life to try and give my digital work more depth and meaning. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but then that is the point isn't it; Trying out new things and learning from your mistakes.

My current digital preoccupation is with self portraits and the idea of the self. I am looking forward to being able to flick through all my self portraits at a later date. They act as my visual diary and show me the stages of my life at the time'.
